It’s hard to believe it but Christmas is already upon us, 31 days to be exact! With the success of the John Lewis ads in recent times it seems that everyone is jumping on the creative Christmas bandwagon of releasing a ‘Hollywoodesque’ TV advert. In no particular order we chart the top five creative Christmas ads you’ll see this year!
‘’Mog’s Christmas Calamity’– Sainsbury’s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuRn2S7iPNU This ad features Mog the cat, the character from the popular children’s book series by author Judith Kerr, encountering a number of sequential calamities which ends up with him ruining Christmas. It all seems like a bit of a disaster until the impromptu happy ending. Well worth a watch!
‘Gift face’ – Harvey Nicholas.

‘Just can’t wait for Christmas’ – Argos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw7tPrEvrhU An all action ad here from Argos, playing on their introduction of their ‘fastest service ever’. The ad was shot on a mountainside in Chile’s Valle Navado and features a team of 50 snowboarders and professional skiers. A truly epic creative Christmas advert.
‘Justino’ – Spanish National Lottery
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY3vQTrCn7I This ad certainly plays on the heartstrings and has attracted large media attention for doing so. The advert follows a lonely night-time security guard at a mannequin factory and ends with a heart-warming twist. And the good news is you don’t need any level of Spanish to be able to understand and appreciate the video! So there we go, our list of the top 5 most creative Christmas adverts this year.
